School Mental Health Ontario is a provincial implementation support team. They help school districts enhance student mental health through evidence-informed strategies and services.
Dedicated to the best life for every child and youth, CHEO is a global leader in pediatric health care and research. Their resources include comprehensive research and links to supporting community partners and programs, including the Kids Come First Health Team, mental health parent workshops, and access to local counselling and supports.
The Children’s Aid Society of Ottawa is a non-profit community organization funded by the Government of Ontario. They work closely with community partners, service providers, and children, youth and their families to strengthen the capacity of families and communities to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of those in their care.
1Call1Click.ca exists to help children, youth and families connect with the right mental health and addiction services and care when they need it. It is intended to assist infants, children and youth from birth to 21 years of age.
The Royal is one of Canada’s foremost mental health care, teaching and research hospitals. Our mandate is simple: to help more people living with mental illness and addiction into recovery faster.
The Royal’s primary role is to serve people 16 and older living with complex and persistent mental illness. For most of their programs, patients in need of the highly specialized care they provide are referred by physicians or nurse practitioners in our community.
Their service areas - which help 3,000 youth every month get from where they are to where they want to be, include Youth Engagement, Mental Health Services, Community & Housing Services, Employment Services, and Youth Justice Services throughout 21 locations across Ottawa. Their crisis line is open 24/7 for anyone to call for help with any situation, emergency or not, and their live crisis chat is also available anytime.
Accredited since 2013, Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7 e-mental health service offering free, confidential support to young people in English and French. They provide a safe and trusted place for young people in any moment of crisis or need.
CUAV supports the healing of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer people that have experienced violence and abuse by other people and /or institutions.
Located in Ottawa the Dave Smith Youth Treatment Centre is a non-profit, live-in, and community-based agency that is dedicated to helping youth (13-21) and families across Ontario overcome substance use and related issues and to achieve a healthier lifestyle. With separate evidence-based programs tailored to the specific needs of young men and women, it is the only Centre of its kind in Eastern Ontario.
The Walk-In Counselling Clinic and Counselling Connect are a collaborative initiative supported by Ontario Health East and a network of dedicated community agencies.
Together, they are committed to removing barriers and making mental health support easier to access, especially when you need it most.
eMentalHealth.ca is designed to help you find mental health support through our directory of services and organizations. Our directory is Ontario-focused but includes listings throughout Canada. Also included are information sheets, screening tools, events listings, and research.
The Ottawa Newcomer Health Centre provides health care services, mental health services, system navigation, and language support to government-assisted refugees. They have a number of programs to support individuals during their initial settlement period in Ottawa.
